Singer, Dernor, was facing life in prison for a robbery before choosing to take music seriously.
In 2008 singer, Dernor, was part of a high-speed chase with Houston Police Department following the aggravated robbery of a man outside of a Houston game room. A male victim reported being approached by a group of guys near the entrance of the game room, where one of the men got into an altercation with a man walking into the game room. The male victim reportedly attempted to break the altercation up, in which the group of men turned on him, taking his money and jewelry.
"I dont gamble, I was walking by and saw the fight and tried to stop it, but I think them n***as was looking to rob whoever they saw coming or going.", the victim reportedly told KHOU.
Over half an hour later, a HPD helicopter unit spotted a vehicle that was reported stolen days prior driving on a Houston interstate. A task force was soon behind the stolen black Ford F-150 truck. The chase went on for 20-35 minutes until the truck came to an halt and the group of guys all ran different ways. Singer Dernor was found minutes later, trapped in a nearby apartment. He was arrested and booked in Harris County Jail and charged with two counts of aggravated robbery. The singer reportedly spent close to twenty thousand dollars fighting his case in Harris County Jail, on trial for 1 1/2 years before being sentenced to 6 years in the state's penitentiary.
Dernor was released from Texas State Penitentiary on November 5, 2014. He soon became a father and refocused his mind on taking music more seriously, which proved to have a great start. Dernor signed a deal with Eric B's Music Group in 2020, recording and releasing "Caught Up" featuring Dice Davinci, and Lil Mark, both Dernor's family members.
