The rapper was jailed for possession of a firearm and charged with a third degree felony, carrying a maximum of 10 years.
Earlier this year, Dice DaVinci announced his presidency of Eric B's new music company Eric B Music Group. EBMG was established to connect artists with their audience through promotion and distribution. However, Dice hasn't always worked behind the scenes in the entertainment industry.
In 2008, rapper Dice DaVinci was arrested on possessions of a firearm in a prohibited zone after HPD found a .380 handgun on the rapper, after returning from a concert in Houston's Third Ward. The arrest happened at the University of Houston's Moody Towers, where the rapper was a current resident.
An officer who was leaving the campus saw the rapper exit a vehicle and the gun was exposed from his hoodie. Despite his claim that the gun belonged to a friend, the gun was on the rapper’s body upon returning to the campus.
"The gun wasn't mines, it belonged to a friend. I wouldn't tell them who it belonged to, and it was on me when they approached me, so they charged me with possession..." Dice claims.
Houston Police Department was called to the scene, and Dice was arrested and taken in and charged with a felony. The third degree felony charge carried a minimum of 2 years, and a maximum 10 years. Dice served some time and was released with two years deferred adjudication.
Dice recently featured on “Caught Up”, a song by singer Dernor, also featuring rapper Lil Mark, both reported to be Dice’s cousins.
