Keiajah Brooks says police are following her after she called them out in viral speech

The young activist went in on the city’s Board of Police Commissioners and now says officers from the department are harassing her.

Keiajah “KJ” Brooks — a young activist who went viral after calling out members of the Kansas City Board of Police Commissioners — now says officers from the Kansas City Police Department are following her. Brooks made the harassment known on her Instagram, where she posted several videos of a police car driving nearby her apartment complex. She also said the car drove past her photoshoot and followed her while she was trunk-or-treating.

“I was sitting in my car today at 11:00 and police car 818 drove through my private apartment complex parking lot not once, not twice, but three times as I sat in my car to try to intimidate me,” she wrote. “There’s a public street that’s right there... You would not need to cut through here at all unless you live here.”

Brooks claimed the passengers of the car included a white female officer, a Black male officer and later on a white male officer.

“Let me just preface that I do not suffer from any mental illnesses or ideations,” she added. “I have no intentions or plans of harming myself or anyone else.”

The young woman also said she had received multiple calls from an unknown number and believes this is how Kansas City police officers have been tracking her.
